#2: On July 2nd I talked Mary Gualtieri Jamrozik, Uncle Joe’s daughter, and she just got back from the doctor. The doctor said the tests show she is doing a little better but they did find a couple of spots that concern them. Rather than chemo they are going to try a very new pill as soon as the doctor can find a place where they can buy it. We will keep you informed.

06/25/2014: Clorinda (Louie’s daughter) and her two grandchildren drove from Nevada with Louie’s Ashes and arrived in Dallas City on June 8th. Teresa (Louie’s daughter), Mike and their daughter Michele, drove there from Georgia. The next morning, Monday, June 9th they meet Leysa (Mario’s daughter) and all went to the cemetery. They invited Ed and Katherine Symmonds to come to cemetery too who were family friends. Katherine worked at the Italian Village with Louie and Margaret. Teresa started the ceremony with her words of love and good-byes and everyone else followed as they wished. Mike covered the boxes of Louie's ashes in the grave site. They were each given a rose to be placed upon one of the burial stone.

04/11/2014: On 4/2/2014 Alexis Demko, Destina Demko’s daughter and my granddaughter, entered 2 art pieces into the Texas State Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) Houston Regional Contest. Statewide more than 26,000 students participated in the 25 regional VASE events. As far as I can tell, Texas is the only state that has a state wide Fine Arts Contest. The regional art pieces were rated from 1 to 4 with 4 being the highest. Of those with a 4 rating, the top 10 percent were given Gold Medals and promoted to the State Contest. 1,626 items qualified to go to the state judging, both of Alexis’s art pieces were selected to go to the State Contest. On 4/5/2014 at the State Contest Alexis received a Bronze Medal for her Charcoal Drawing called "Consume the Music". Her other Digital Art Drawing called "Blow Fish Day Dreams" did not win any additional awards at state. It is a real honor to have 1 item go to State let alone 2. Around 240 items were given a Gold Medal and about 250 were given a Bronze Medal. Both items are in Alexis’s Art Album in Destina’s sub-album in the Gallery.
